Ovvo

Ovvo is an app for two: one question a day, a shared Sprout and a knock your other half can feel in their palm. The ovvo.love site is already collecting the waitlist, and the app itself is in development.

The task

Ovvo is an app for two: a short daily ritual instead of endless messaging. The task is to turn the idea into a product for iPhone and Android and to gather the first users before release.

Strategy

While the app is in development, the site gathers the first users. Instead of describing the app it lets a visitor try three of its mechanics right on the page, with the waitlist sign-up at the start and at the end.

The work, area by area

Website

  • A one-page site with five sections
  • Email sign-up for the waitlist, with a form in the first and the last section
  • Three mechanics of the app right on the page: the knock, the question of the day and the Sprout
  • Inviting a partner: the link to a question can be sent through Telegram or WhatsApp
  • Russian and English versions at separate addresses, a privacy policy in both languages

Why this way: An app for couples is hard to explain in words, so the site lets a visitor feel it: they knock, answer a question and see the Sprout, and then leave an email. Two forms catch both those who decide at once and those who scroll to the end.

Service: Websites

The appIn development

  • The app for iPhone and Android
  • Question of the day: answers open once both have answered
  • A shared Sprout that grows through five stages from seed to flower
  • A knock your other half feels as a vibration

Why this way: The app has the same three mechanics as the site, so the waitlist gathers people who have already tried the product. App screens will be shown after release.

The site, section by section

Live

The ovvo.love site collects the waitlist. Instead of describing the app in words, it lets a visitor try its three mechanics right on the page and then leave an email. Below are all five sections in the order a visitor sees them.

  1. The Ovvo site: First screen

    First screen

    Section heading: «Knock knock. It’s me.»

One line about the app and the waitlist sign-up form.

  2. The Ovvo site: The knock

    The knock

    Section heading: «No words. Just a knock.»

A visitor taps the ring and sees the knock reach their other half. Two knocks mean “thinking of you”, three “miss you”, four “my heart is near”.

  3. The Ovvo site: Question of the day

    Question of the day

A question arrives for both every day. An answer can be written and sealed: it opens once both have answered. The link to the question can be sent to a partner through Telegram or WhatsApp.

  4. The Ovvo site: The Sprout

    The Sprout

Section heading: «Sprout grows while you stay close.»

A shared pet goes through five stages: seed, sprout, leaves, bud, flower.

  5. The Ovvo site: Sign-up

    Sign-up

Section heading: «Plant the seed first.»

A second sign-up form and the terms: free, iPhone and Android, one email when your turn comes.

Client review

The site turned out simply stunning.

Everything was fast, high-quality and professional. Working together was easy: the developers did everything on time and without needless questions, and they also suggested solutions and alternatives that work better than what we had written in our brief ourselves.

Conclusion

The site is live and gathering the waitlist, and the app is in development. Once it ships, its screens and numbers will be added to the case.
